1. Who we are
QR Scanner is developed and published by CricketDev. For privacy questions, contact cricketdevhq@gmail.com.
2. What QR Scanner does
QR Scanner uses your device camera to recognize QR codes. It can keep a local history of scanned text, copy results, and pass web addresses to a compatible browser when you choose to open them.
3. Camera access and scanned content
The app requests camera permission because it is necessary to scan QR codes. Camera frames are processed on the device and are not stored or sent to CricketDev. CricketDev does not receive QR-code contents through AdMob.
You can revoke camera permission in Android settings, although scanning will then be unavailable.
4. Information stored on your device
The app can store the following information locally:
- scanned QR-code text and scan history
- sound preferences
- theme, color, and appearance preferences
CricketDev does not use an account or cloud-sync service to collect this information. You can clear scan history in the app. Android backup is disabled, and uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data.
5. Advertising and Google AdMob
QR Scanner uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, coarse location inferred from an IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostic data. This information may be used to deliver, measure, secure, and personalize advertising where permitted.
Where required, the app presents Google's consent message before requesting ads. Choices can vary by region. Read the Google Privacy Policy and Google's advertising technologies information.
6. External websites and apps
When you choose to open a scanned web address, the app passes it to a browser or another compatible app. That external app and destination website operate under their own privacy policies.
7. Information sharing
CricketDev does not sell your scanned content or local app settings. Advertising-related information may be processed by Google and its partners as explained above. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, rights, or security.
8. Data retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you clear scan history, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Advertising data is retained under the policies and controls of Google and its applicable partners.
9. Children
QR Scanner is not designed to collect personal information directly from anyone, including children. Advertising treatment is configured consistently with CricketDev's audience declarations in Google Play and AdMob.
10. Security
We aim to keep QR Scanner lightweight and privacy-conscious, but no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is perfectly secure.
11. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, CricketDev may update this policy. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
